Deborah Mogho
Hello, I’m Deborah Mogho, the founder of the Smart Kids Literacy Foundation and the Director of the Kids Resource Centre (KRC) project. With a degree in English and over a decade of experience as a professional teacher, my heart has always been set on seeing children develop a love for reading from a young age. This passion of mine has driven me, even during my time in the classroom.
The idea for the KRC project took root when I relocated to Bonny Island, a vibrant oil community blessed with natural resources. Despite this, many children in the area faced challenges with literacy. The Kids Resource Centre, nestled on New Jerusalem Road, Bonny Island, emerged as a response to this need. It provides free access to a variety of materials for young ones, including storybooks, educational books, magazines, comics, games, and more.
Our literacy programs have touched the lives of thousands of children, offering them a chance to enhance their reading skills and explore the world through the magic of books. It’s a joy to witness the positive impact we’ve had, one child at a time. We urge everyone to support us on this journey to advancing the cause of literacy.
